On December 4, 2021, the Center for International Finance and Economics Research (CIFER) of the National Institute of Financial Research, Tsinghua University's PBC School of Finance, hosted a conference.2021 International Trade Disputes and Globalization Restructuring Academic Symposium（2021 International Conference on US-China Trade Disputes and Rearchitecture in GlobalizationThe event was officially launched online.

Since its inception in December 2018, the academic symposium on "International Trade Disputes and the Reconstruction of Globalization" has been successfully held three times, accumulating nearly a thousand academic paper submissions worldwide and attracting tens of thousands of attendees in person. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the third symposium was held online as scheduled. For the first time, it adopted a multi-platform live streaming and parallel forum format. The peak viewership for each parallel forum reached a thousand people, with a total of over 5,000 viewers across all forums throughout the day. The three-day conference live stream accumulated over ten thousand online viewers.

This year, China has steadily entered the post-pandemic era.The 4th Academic Symposium on "International Trade Disputes and the Reconstruction of Globalization" was held online, drawing on past experience, paying attention to details, and emphasizing innovation.This conference was held in a format that included live streaming across all platforms, a keynote speech leading the opening ceremony, and multiple forums running concurrently, breaking down spatial barriers and fully presenting the content of the two-day academic conference.

Professor Ju stated that this year marks the fourth International Symposium on Trade Disputes and Academic Discussions. Since the inaugural symposium in December 2018, the number of papers on the global US-China trade dispute has been very small; now, there are over 100 global English-language articles. With the restructuring of the global economic structure, international trade disputes are gradually receiving more attention from the academic community. Professor Ju hopes that through academic discussions, a deeper understanding of the US-China trade dispute can be achieved, combining theory and practice to jointly build a new trade order.
